Description of Application:
The Headworks Building was constructed in 1996 as part of a facility expansion project. The building is split into three sections and after a facility inspection, it was found that the thin-film epoxy system in Section 3 had failed and was replaced with Raven 400 in 2004. After inspecting the center section (2) of the headworks in 2013, the owner found that the existing coating system had failed and that the concrete was extremely degraded and in need of repair. Raven 405 was chosen as the protective lining system. Raven Certified Applicator, National Coating and Lining, had 60-days to completely remove the existing coating, prepare the concrete for rehabilitation, apply up to 2” of concrete repair materials and apply the Raven 405 protective lining system. The aggressive schedule was required because of the cost of bypassing 80 million gallons of raw wastewater around the headworks building.
