Description of Application
Lining was applied to three existing lift station structures. These structures had been subjected to moderate to severe H2S attack for 20+ years. The structures needed to be renovated & protected before corrosion would cause them to be inoperable. ACE Pipe Cleaning, a long-established Raven Certified Applicator pressure washed each structure with 5000 psi 4+ GPM flow water to remove all deteriorated concrete back to a sound, solid surface. They applied a ½” minimum thick layer of Strong-seal Profile Mix, waited overnight to dry/cure & pressure washed again to open up the fresh mortar/remove the laitance layer. Once completed they immediately applied 125 mils of Raven 405 Fast Set to the SSD surface. All areas of the structure that received the epoxy composite system were checked for holidays by ASTM D4787 high voltage spark testing standards. The application of this system took place in May 2017.
